This week we focused on life drawing but more importantly basic anatomy, human anatomy is difficult to get right when drawing the naked form and takes practise, to draw the anatomy of a person you most first focus on the models skeleton and the size of each bone and limb then the flesh is added.
I started by doing some very quick sketches to get warmed up I focused on getting down the models shape and the basic proportions of everything on the body, the proportions were slightly off in these sketches but it does give a good idea on shape and the posse of the model.
An improvement has been made in these drawings the proportions are a lot closer and also the curves of the body and spine are displayed more fluently. Some aspects still needed work but it is a good attempt for 1 minute sketches, it offers the basic shape and size of the model.
I then did a 2 minute compression drawing which allowed me to focus in more detail on getting the proportions and also the shape of body more accurate. As you can see the sketch is a lot more in proportion and shows off the models shape closely, The continuous lines helped to show the flow of the body and also how the flesh hangs off the skeleton of the model.
I included some features of the model like hands and the feet to see how the whole anatomy of the model was being portrayed in this sketch. This sketch was a lot closer to the real anatomy of the model and shows her shape very well.
The anatomy for this sketch is a lot better and is more normal, also the weight and posse can be seen easily. shading has been added to show of detail on the body like the back and the bottom and head.
