We did a number of 30 second sketch's on one page which allowed use to compare them, as you can see my first attempts at this type of drawing weren't very good but you can still see definite movement in the sketch's and a sense of weight in each one. This exercise was to just get a general gesture of each posse nothing more.
The second set of drawings I did were 2 minute drawings which allowed us more time to focus on the the proportions of the model as well as still capturing the movement in each posse. In these sketch's you can see that the model is a lot more in proportion and that there is a very good sense of movement and body torsion which shows in my sketch's, this adds to the impact and the sense of movement you get when looking at these sketch's.
Another thing you can see by looking at these sketch's is that the anatomy and shape of the model are improved and the are looking at least human. Although improvement could be made in terms of detail but these are good two minutes sketches.
My next sketch is another motion posse sketch but this time I had 5 minutes to draw the posse. I focused on the posture, posse, action and weight of the model. I tried to use continuous lines to bring out the bodies shape and also the curves like the hips and the shoulders, I also measured to great a good sense of proportion with how far his hands were held above his head and how long his arms were.
I added a bit of detail to this sketch so that it was easy to tell how in proportion the limbs were to the rest of his body, this helped me to create a fairly accurate interpretation of how the model stood and also the weight in his shoulders and legs. The only thing was a table covered his legs so it was impossible to see how wide his stance was and which leg carried the most weight.
The last drawing I did was a longer 8 minute sketch which focused on the upper half of the model. This allowed me to focus on detail in terms of proportion and weight, I also included detail to emphasis how the model was stood and what he was doing.
The overall shape and proportion is very good in this drawing and it is easy to see how the limbs were positioned in this sketch. The lines of the body really help to show off the features of the model like his shoulders, hips and ribs.
